Tips for Displaying Your Auction Board on a TV
LiveAuctionMVP works great for displaying your auction board on an HDMI TV. Using a laptop will give you best results. Whether you're connecting via HDMI, AirPlay, or screen sharing — here are some quick tips to get everything working smoothly.
Common Display Methods
1. Direct HDMI Connection
- Best for: Laptops with HDMI or USB-C
- Plug HDMI from your laptop to the TV.
- Use your TV remote to switch to the correct HDMI input.
- Choose Duplicate or Mirror Display in your display settings.
- Mac: System Settings > Displays, Windows: Display Settings > Multiple Displays
2. AirPlay (Mac to Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV)
- Best for: macOS and iOS users
- Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the AirPlay icon on your Mac or iOS device.
- Select your TV and choose "Mirror Display".
- If letterboxing occurs, adjust scaling in Display settings.
3. Chromecast / Cast Tab (Chrome Browser)
- Best for: Chrome browser on any OS
- Ensure your Chromecast and computer are on the same Wi-Fi.
- Click the Chrome menu (⋮) > Cast.
- Choose whether to cast a Tab, Window, or Entire Screen.
4. Screen Mirroring (Windows to Smart TV)
- Best for: Windows PCs with Miracast
- Press Windows + K to connect wirelessly to your TV.
- Or go to Settings > Display > Connect to a wireless display.
⚙️ General Best Practices
- Set screen resolution to match your TV (usually 1080p or 4K).
- Use full-screen mode in your browser (
F11
on Windows, Control + Command + F
on Mac).
- Zoom out slightly in your browser if things look cut off.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb mode to avoid pop-ups.
- Keep your device plugged in — screen sharing uses power fast.
